The Flash #9 Review

CONSENSUS: While The Flash remains a solid book, some critics found that this issue felt rushed, and Gorilla Grodd's New 52 origin is too quickly passed by. Thankfully, the great art manage to help save the book -- and if you've been enjoying the book thus far, you'll probably like this issue too.

A Comic Book Blog: "Same Flash goodness since relaunch." 90

CBR: "The cover and the gorillas got me in. The story and the art made me happy. I'm not the world's biggest Barry Allen fan, but Buccellato and Manapul have made me a pretty big fan of "The Flash."" 80

Weekly Comic Book Review: "Still chugging along fine, and definitely keeping you interested with a nice handful of storylines running at the same time." 75

Newsarama: "Manapul and Buccellato are clearly thinking about the broad strokes here, but I hope that in future issues we get a little bit more nuance and focus on character building rather than world building." 70

IGN: "The Flash might be fast but, man, this issue felt rushed. Save for the exposition from the gorilla elders, the narrative jumped and skipped around to create a fuzzy story at best." 60
